1. Introduction
 
The most powerful diffration image writer ever
 
The HoloScanV is an advanced large format holoraphic mastering system to fabricate the masters for 3D holograms, optical variable devices, diffraction patterns and sub-wavelength optics on the ultra-large substrates.
 
The HoloScanV supports a variety of micro-nano structure generation, not only the 3D holograms, diffraction  images with the kinetic effects, but also the silvering effects, sub-wavelength patterns  at the 40 inch - 65 inch range  or larger at the very fast exposure rates. The feature on the HoloScanV are that it can continuously change the pitches of grating from 300 nm to 10um in period on each pixel and can make almost types of micro-and nano patterns in the single system.  
 
Therefore, the HoloScanV is an idea tool for holographic, diffractive mastering  and micro-nano patterning for packaging, printing, optical security  and even OLED illumination industries. 
 
2. General Features
 
The Extremely Fast Exposure Rate. 

It is very important to write the large size master efficienctly. The HoloScanV applies the Beam Tiled Flash Patterning(BTFP) technology that leads exposure rate up to 5,000 frame/s. By using the BTFP mode, it takes less than 20 minutes for 12"x 12" pattern at 254 dpi . That is the industry-leading exposure rate, extremely fast!
 
 
 

The BTFP principle is that the linear motor driven stage moves continuously and the nano-grating-ruler commands the pulse beam to exposure the data onto photoresist plate when it reaches the positions for the next field. Because of the short flash time of nanoseconds around 30ns, the movement of the linear stage is frozen and a sharp image of the mask  is produced in the photoresist even the movement speed is very fast. The aperture masks can be replaced with a new shapes for the next flash. The patterns are stitched together to form the large fields. 
 

All-Color Definition Settings. 
 
SVG has invented the Phase Light Modulation (PLM)technology. The spatial frequency of grating in each pixel can be changed from 0 - 3300 line pairs/mm which leads the pitches of grating to be changed continously from 300nm in period to the size of pixel  by the unique proprietary PLM technology.  Colors can be reproduced based on the mentioned PLM technology. That the different phase gratings made and changed by our proprietary system can define the colors of 16.7M for 24 bit images, and 43.7K for 16 bit images from red, green, blue, subwavength-

zero-order and evn silvering chromatic colors. 
 
The 3D true color hologram made by the HoloScanv will look exactly like it does on the LCD screen, shown as right photo.  
 
This is a very important feature with which any optical diffraction optical colors and effects, including sub-wavelength, holo-lens, large view angle of true-color 3D hologram can be easily made. 
 

Special Color Setting, Silvering. 


 
The special colors, such as the silvering color and  metal-like colors can also be designed and made with the unique phase light modulation technology. The images with silvering color effect have been shown as the above photo.

DOE Fabrication. 
 
A wide range of micro-nano structure modulation function makes the HoloScanV possible to produce complex diffraction optical elements, patterns and  devices.  For example, usually, a diffractive optical lens, or hololens, has the varying spatial frequency ranged from 0 to 1500 line pairs/mm from the center to edge of the lens. Based on PLM technology, the HoloScanV can prepare the diffractive-lens, the array sensors, the Fresnel lens, and various color devices. With the consecutive changing spatial frequency, the diffractive lens has been prepared as shown in the right photo. This is a unique function. The structures oriented at an angle of rotation of micro-and nano-structures: 0.01 degrees; pixel spatial-frequency range (0 - 3300 line pairs / mm), spatial-frequency gradient resolution: 1 line / pixel. 
 
Automatic-Optical Focusing(AOF) & Position Accuracy.
 

 The AOF system has been integrated in the HoloScanV for the exact beam focusing to get the high resolution in the large size substrates. Due to the big roughness on the  large substrate, it is necessary to use the Z-direction correction  to eliminate the roughness so that the high resolution can be achieved. The Z-correction technology has been applied with 0.3um accuacy for the focusing with 20nm resolution. A proprietary system for high-speed accurate control of laser beam frequency and intensity. A automatically CCD optical confocal focusing system which automatically controls focal distance, fully automated and computer controlled.
 
Automatic Resolution Settings. 
 
Pixel Shape. 
 
Different sizes and shapes of aperture masks have been applied, including the square, rectangular, honeycomb, circlular and any other shape apertures with the customized resolutions. A automatic aperture mask changing system has been installed to set the resolution of image and shape of pixel. On a typical mask module, five-six different apertures can be switched automatically according to file defination by the operator by using the proprietary automated mask setting system.
 

Master Pattern Size.  
 
The standard size is 40" and the lastest system has 1500mm x 2000mm live area. Any size customer specifies up to 100". The size of the HoloScanV is dependent on the system configuration.  To write a large format hologram or nano-structuresubstrates of OLED, such as 800mmx610mm, the HoloScanV-e will take about 2 hours with 160um square shape . This is the fastest exposure rate for mastering the diffractive patterns in the industries at present in the world.
 
The HoloScanV may be the most powerful mastering system with high resolution with multi-colors and true color 3D supporting. Of course, the large size photoresist plates are needed to be supplied. 
 
The variety of masters with large areas used to emboss the holographic films for packaging of brand name in china have almost been made with the HoloScanV, a truly powerful system, supporting 24 hours a day, 30 days a month. 
 
3. Applications
 

Types of images. 
 
The digital holographic pattern or optical variable device can be achieved by the HoloscanV with moving optical head and high performance linear motors to drive the writing head on the surface of the photoresist plates with the very short times. All patterns made by the HoloScanV are consisted of micro-nano structures with the different feature sizes, directions and depths.

Spectral color images: Continuous spectral color from deep blue to deep red and customized colors or silvering colors;
 
2D/3D: Set of flat images positioned on different depth. 
 
4.  Software
The HoloScanV ahs been installed the proprietary processing software,OVGraphics 2.5 and related controller. The OVGraphics is developed for designing holograms and OVD with no deformation. This version can convert any scanned bmp files into vector graph files which can generate any scale, rotation, shift and path definition optically variable device,2D/3D, 3D, kinetic effect patterns and holographic lens. 
Powerful software for 3D images. Different styles and designs of 3D holographic images and related diffractive patterns can be finished on one photoresist plate with the proprietary software. 
 
The data from the 3D image processing software, such as 3D-max, can be converted into the real 3D images by the HoloScanV. The true color 3D image made by the HoloScanV has been shown as right photo.
